August 25, 2007

Schools started in Bear Valley on August 1 and the fall sports are in full sing. All the teams of Football, Cross Country, Girls Golf and Volleyball have started. The new T.V, production class is up and running and will be producing programs for our local TV channel. The first football game is Saturday, August 31, against Vasquez High School in Acton. Homecoming is Saturday, September 8 against Aquinas. This should be a great game. Big Bear sports teams are well represented in the DeAnza League. Hope you get to come to some of the competitions.

Passing of Mary Lu Drake
From: Patty Byrd

Long time BBES teacher, MaryLu Drake, died Sunday August 19, and her funeral is scheduled for Saturday Sept 8th, at 9 am at Our Lady of the Desert, Apple Valley, next to St. Mary's hospital. I figured some people might want to know and perhaps you can put it in the teacher's bulletin. I'm at Lucerne and doing well...no choir though!

Blessings, Patty Byrd!

Another note from Steve on August 15,
Hi all,

We need to try to get a count of how many are coming to the reunion. I know most of you have indicated you're coming but not how many (1 or 2 or as many as you like) or your choice for dinner.

If you have not already done so, please let us know as soon as possible. Frank's email account is in limbo right now so please send it to either Dave of myself or both.

See you in September.
Steve (Foulkes)
